Thanks for the reply. I get chills just reading it. I have no idea what any of it even means! I don't supose you know (or if anyone knows) where I can get this done?R.E92 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2017 1:13 pm The coding should be a lot easier using ISTA-P. Clarker was using DIS which is antiquated in comparison.
ISTA-P should do all the coding and calibrating for you in a few clicks. You can get ISTA-P pre-loaded onto a virtual machine along with Tool32 and NCSExpert from the E90post coding section.
I was tempted to retrofit cruise just for fun but the hardware came to £300. Can't quite justify spending that on something I never used on my previous car.
I spent one afternoon coding my car to allow DVD playback while driving but since doing so I've never used it. It's a nice challenge!

I'm going to retrofit cruise control this weekend (weather permitting), I'll let you know if I'm successful!
Oh, and I live 16 miles from Cambridge, and I used to have a 200SX as well!

Remote coding services are quite common but I have none to recommend as I'm a DIYer. If Tumnus is successful then maybe you could buy him a bottle of wine in exchange for some codingAndyarmra wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2017 1:22 pmThanks for the reply. I get chills just reading it. I hope it all goes well. Let me know how you get on. Where did you get your spares?

I picked up everything from ebay, once I knew the part numbers they were fairly easy to find.

Unfortunately, not so well. Got the unit fitted, but I get a cruise control error on start and it doesn't work.
Don't know if I have a faulty unit, or I've missed something off the coding. I'll have to get some diagnostics run on it, or try and pick up another cruise control unit to test it with.

Not good. Hard to believe it's the unit. Not sure what could go wrong with them unless someone else has had experience? Well I hope you get it sorted. Keep us up to date on your progress.

The thing that makes me think it's the unit is it works intermittently, the stalk and button work briefly some of the time, and the cruise control will engage for about a second before switching off.

Did the part numbers come from realoem or another source? I'm interested in a retrofit.

Yes, I used Realoem for the part numbers, just be aware that the 'Switch Unit Steering Column' section on the site is listed twice, one for multi-function steering wheels and one for without.
EDIT: It looks like the difference is actually whether you have steering wheel heater or not. No MFSW available with steering wheel heater?

I set the ZDSC and KOMBI modules back to their default settings and it now works!

I have ordered the replacement stalks with cruise control from ebay and they arrived yesterday. They don't look the same as the ones shown on the first page of this thread - will they fit? The part number is 9123049 as stated at the beginning of this tread and in realoem says it fits E89 35i.
Anyone help, looking at doing the install this weekend.
