My car has been in again the last two days for rattling roof and dancing windows.
Well they've almost cured the rattling roof - but the dancing windows... just as bad but now the drivers' side one is now 5mm too low, out of line with the rear one, lets in water and STILL dances... so its going back in AGAIN tomorrow.
Anyway, while it was in they said they'll replace a Vent in the boot for a redesigned part. Aparently the one fitted to my car a May 09 35i, has been superceeded and cars affected with have theirs replaced as and when they go in.
Can only think it might be part 4 in this diagram.
David
PS another guy was dropping his Z4 e89 off same time as me, yes rattling roof and leaking windows... begining to wish I'd kept the MX-5!

Re: Replacement Boot Vent
Hmmm the small rear window was a problem on the SLK too, once they got out of alignment. The ones on the E89 are larger too. Hopefully they will sort it for you.

Re: Replacement Boot Vent
My car had it done yesterday, but the off-side of rear bumper is now bit loose after it was refitted. New guide is needed and my car has to go back again later.

Re: Replacement Boot Vent
My car is back in AGAIN - this time got a Mini Cooper D - and nice it is too. No rattles or dancing windows... think I might do a swap (with some cashback!).
Windows still dancing, now drivers' window 5mm too low and leak, and rattle from roof just as bad if not worse than it ever was.
Poor Scothall will be cursing me - or the numpties that built my car on a Friday afternoon...!
