We are a bit exclusive arn't we...
This new (Z-2009+) part of the forum hardly has any posters/visitors, it's like a ghost town in here

They haven't been out long enough yet. I bet the posters on the forum are a fraction of the 1st gen owners out there, so in fact we are doing well so far!

Not sure that is the case completely, when the original Z4 came out I was very active on the original Z4UM and so were hundreds of others waiting to buy one or just bought one.
The new Z is just a different market I guess to some extend.

Yes, but that was a new model, not an upgrade of an existing mark!pvr wrote:Not sure that is the case completely, when the original Z4 came out I was very active on the original Z4UM and so were hundreds of others waiting to buy one or just bought one.
Same as the new MINI. I joined a forum about it 12 months before they came out! Not as many on the forum section to the 2nd gen MINI for ages on that site until they were out for over a year!

Re: We are a bit exclusive arn't we...
I just took delivery of a 2010 35i and coming from driving an '03 and an '06 Z4, I can honestly say that this new model is superior in every way. I loved both of my other Z4's, but the new Z4 blows both away big time. I can't find one aspect of the first generation Z4 that I can say I miss or was better than this one. This car is unbelievable.

After owning mine for a while, I'd agree there. I would say if I didn't also!
When I had my 3.0si Coupe I really liked the car, but secretly hoped BMW would improve it somehow because I always thought there was room for improvement on a few things, mainly to do with the handling on normal roads!

I would also agree!
I was a member of the original z4um and owned a 2.2i between Sept 2004 and Dec 2006. I loved the original Z4 but feel that the new model has 'evolved' a good bit. I've enjoyed owning it for every minute of the last 6 months.

And to think when I went to the launch I didn't think much of the new Z4!

Re: We are a bit exclusive arn't we...
I had been closely following all the prototypes for about a year before it was properly revealed to the public. I was actually quite quick off the mark and ordered it in January this year, 4 months before the launch. Having owned a terrific-all-round (but slightly dull) 325i coupe for 2 years I was keen to get back into a roadster and wanted a new fresh model. As I said, no regrets and enjoying everything about it.

Re: We are a bit exclusive arn't we...
I suppose that this thread really begs the question - how many Z4 2009+ owners are using this site?
SDRIVE35i Space Grey, 7 speed DCT, adaptive M suspension, V Spoke 19" wheels, Nav pro with HDD, Comfort access and most of the other toys!
