Still love this car

Post by Dave 2 dogs » Mon Sep 13, 2021 9:00 am

Hi all
Been getting twitchy about a different car for some time now.
But everything I want is just too much for me .
I actually HAD a test drive booked for an f type jag a little while back . I spent the night before thinking ( Iโ€™m not really ready to say goodbye to my lovely zed)
Lucky for me , it rained on the Saturday morning, and I cancelled the test drive. Iโ€™m under no illusions, I would have loved the jag and probably brought it . I STILL miss my merlot e85 and the thought of parting with this car made me sad . So โ€ฆ. I decided to play a little, with so mods
New front grills
Glossy black lower front grills
Gloss black mirror caps
Re did the calipers
New wheels and tyres ( no more runflats ) yippee ( thanks stuartt) ๐Ÿ‘
Just got the roll hoops to paint black and Iโ€™m done I think.
Iโ€™m just so in love with this car now ๐Ÿ˜

Looking good.
The front grilles are a bit marmite I reckon, but on that colour they look right.
Nice set of wheels and a good stance always makes a car. Compare the rear arch gaps before and after. Got spacers on it now or different offsets?
Assume it's a trick of the light that makes the roof look like its material rather than metal?

Car looks stunning Dave, I love the wheels & grills ( Where did you get the grills please ? ) I get itchy feet every now and again and then I drive my Zed and I come back to my senses, Iโ€™m holding back on a wheel refurb and pro detail until next year, I have a very expensive wedding to pay for in 6 months time, number one daughter getting married and costing probably what my car is worth

Nothing new on offsets or spacers ( it does look different though) ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
The roof is just the morning due on it
Thanks for your thoughts ๐Ÿ‘

Looks great

Did you paint the wing mirrors or buy covers? It's on my to do list.

Really does look like there are spacers!

Very nice ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Sometimes itโ€™s good to enjoy what you have. In all honesty Iโ€™ve thought about swapping many times but at twice the investment and probably no additional enjoyment other than having something different Iโ€™ve come to the conclusion that getting out more and driving it is the answer.

When ever I get back from a drive the devil on the shoulder is silenced.

I bought similar grilles a year ago from this guy in Essex (has different styles): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274690517176 ... SwHwRdyDzQ

Car looks great Dave, similar problem car sits in the garage most of the time and it would only be changing for changing sake... money better sitting in the bank

Thanks guys
I do drive this daily
But get bored easily and my head starts turning .
Like was said above, itโ€™s going to cost a lot to replace this with something nice, realising I still love it has saved me a good few quid ( apart from the wheels and tyres ๐Ÿ˜‚
I was just chasing speed. The v8 jag is fast by this standard, and I nearly did drive one. Thank the rain gods for showing up that day ๐Ÿ˜‚
