Cheap exhaust tips

My 35i tips (on a 30i) have got tack welds that would need to be cut in order to remove them but the original 30i tips slide on and off but with quite some resistance - there’s some sort of spring clip thing

On the 23is they just tap off, looking at the image above the 20is must be the same & I think 35i &35is have a weld on them

I know this is a E89 thread, but if they are the same as E86 tips, they just push back on (with a little assistance from a mallet). It’s a very secure fit.

the 35 tips are welded on mate, this thread seems to be primarily about 23/2.0 cars where the tips slide on and off

I think they’re held on with some spring clips internally

Just played 18 holes of golf yesterday with very dodgy knees which today are letting me know that I shouldn't have. Once the ibuprofen has kicked in will get down on my knees and have a look under the car as I can't find anything definitive in the manual.
