H8 v H11 bulbs

Post by Kiwi_Mike » Tue Jul 27, 2021 1:15 am

I'm after some advice on bulbs for my Angel eyes.

I know people are swapping theirs out for LED to get a white light but they are too hit and miss over here in NZ, I already tried a pair and they were useless.

So I'm going to stick with Halogen. However H8's are hard to get here, they have to be specially ordered in so I'm thinking of buying some 'Blue Vision' H11's which should be brighter as they are 55w instead of 35w.

Does anyone know if it is OK to use H11 instead of H8? No chance of doing any damage with the higher output?

Cheers

See this thread for a couple of decent LED bulb options. When I ordered mine the seller classed them as H8/H11 I believe the two are pretty similar.

I had to replace mine at the weekend and went for these

Not cheap but a good fit and look OK to me.

Thanks, I'm having trouble finding the Novsight ones on a reputable website that delivers to NZ.

I think I'll try the Intense Blue H11's and see how I get on. Am just worried they may cause some kind of issue given the car is designed to take the lower wattage ones.
