Anything near 50mpg at normal mway speeds in any Z4 is simply marvellous. Sounds like this is the one to look at for the OP

To qualify that figure, which is by some way the best I've seen in the car:
Half a mile from my house I'm on the A11 dual-carriageway. I saw nothing less than that until about 10 miles away from Coniston.
It was early on a Thursday morning, so the roads were inhabited by professional users, not the weekend ditherers!
I had half an eye on consumption so was letting the car pick up speed at its own pace (though I don't have cruise control)
It was raining off and on, so the roof was up which I suspect was worth a couple of mpg.
To be honest, if it had hit the book figure of 41mpg I'd have been more than happy. :thumbsup:
