To stop automatically playing audio for your iPhone

In idrive
Select Bluetooth (press controller)
Then select Your phone
Move the Idrive controller to right side
Configure device
Uncheck audio
Ok

This will stop it automatically playing unfortunately if at anytime you want to play music from your phone you will have to recheck the audio box.

At the risk of sounding ungrateful, thanks, but what I really, really hope to discover one day is how to make the iDrive wait until I say so to play music from the iPhone.

Car has five driving modes, not just comfort, sport and S+

There is a traction mode by pressing DSC, for snow / ice and perhaps over the occasional grass field etc.

Then holding DSC puts DSC properly off, perhaps for track days or some tomfoolery!

Ive got Button 8 assigned to Night Time Mode - it Toggles between Day/Night
The system has no Auto day/night and its not nice having Cyclops beaming that much light into your eyes at night.
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

I take no credit for that find!
It was a forum member on here years ago - my observation was the Toggle - originally I set 7 day and 8 for night!

Pressing the open button on the key fob twice, the windows get lowered automatically when opening the door and will go up again after closing the door.

2) Exiting the car:
Take the key in your hand, once again press the open button twice, the window gets lowered and raised up when opening the door, even when leaving the car.

Very useful in tiny parking slots.
Hhhm just been to try this. Did not work for me ? :?

I can't get the digital key to work. Set it up, car says it's fine, shows in MY BMW app and in apple wallet, but will not unlock doors.
However if I unlock the car then put the key out of range, placing my phone in the tray will allow me to start the car.
Abstinence is fine, in moderation.

I’m sure I had to tick a box somewhere on the idrive screen to enable this feature ?

It seems this feature is not universal throughout all years, models, trims and countries. It doesn’t work on my car either, and it has comfort and exit packages. Go figure.

It’s a good feature as well given how much that pointed bit sticks backwards!

Great thread - very informative.

I’ve now set button 8 to open/close the screen. Didn’t know you could do that. I’ve not come across night mode, will need to look for that in idrive.

I seem to be able to get the window to go down when entering the car but not exiting which seems strange.
