I got an email back from MMR saying they will make me a set of paddles without the + and - signs on them so they will be better for the 7 speed dct. I'll order them tomorrow as soon as I get back from FOS. I'll let you know if they fit!
Got the paddles ok from MMR, nice group of guys and they were very helpful.
However they do Not fit the e89. The pins that hold the e89 paddles on are much thicker than the F series paddle pins, there is no way I could engineer them to fit, they are on their way back...

Darn. Not what I want to hear, but good to know. Thanks for looking after this for us, John.

Oh bugger, I don't suppose you took a photo for reference? I'm ok with hacking up some cheap Chinese paddles if they are close enough

MODE replied. Their paddles are not compatible with the E89 mating prongs. Bugger.

Tossing this up in hopes somebody found aftermarket shifters that fit the E89.

Resurrection time.

Did MMR reply? Do the paddles fit the e89?

Thanks.

R.E92 wrote: Tue Jul 06, 2021 4:30 pm The difference in paddles is due to the LCI changes.

Pre-LCI cars have the silver paddles that are push for downshift and pull for upshift on each side. The LCI cars have the black/silver paddles that are pull only and downshift on left and upshift on right.

They are interchangeable between models and cost about £150 from BMW if you wanted to switch.

Personally I prefer the pre-LCI methodology so kept them, the LCI paddles do look nice though.
Agreed - having up/down option on both sides of the wheel is a lot better...
