Hi,
I need to replace my BMW Professional head unit. I am just hoping to pick up a 2nd hand one and I was wondering if it is just a straight swap or do I need to input a code with the replacement ?

It doesn’t need a security code but may we’ll require programming as there are different parameters in an E89 from say an E90…
Also depends on which version and year of E89..

As Pbondar says, it depends on what options the donor vehicle had.
For example (but not limited to)...
USB control
PDC (Rear only or Front and Rear)
Bluetooth
etc
It's a simple 2 minute coding to sort it though
