Ok, so I now have a hankering for a 35is (or maybe a 35 manual) after the recent sale of Mr IRD's car which I liked a lot. I have run it past SWMBO and she is OK with it (as the Z4 is ultimately her Summer car, so she thinks)! She won't let me buy another one unless I can sell the existing one first.
I have been looking at asking prices of equivalent cars to ours on Autotrader (my Go-to place for used cars) and am struggling to put a realistic value on it as it has a higher spec than all I've seen at present.
So I thought I would put the details here and see what people think they would realistically pay for it:

It is one of the first E89 18is, April 2013. Alpine white M sport, black kansas leather, fake carbon plastics. 26,152 miles
Comfort pack; heated seats, cruise control, auto dimming rear view mirror (not sure about the door mirrors). Manual folding mirrors. Wind deflector, Professional stereo. Front and rear PDC. No iDrive.
Good points:
Oil and air filter service just 300 miles ago. New discs and pads all round. New stainless wheels bolts all round. New wheel centre caps x4.
Bodywork has no marks whatsoever. 19" 326M wheels with no damage; either scuffs or cracking. 4 new Bridgestone Potenza runflats (500 miles).Interior is unmarked and has bespoke floor mats. No wear to either seat. Was remapped to 260BHP 300 miles ago. No signs of water ingress ever. All light lenses are moisture fee. Garaged. Everything works 100%.
Bad points:
No owners manual (got one on a usb drive though). Service history has gaps due to lack of mileage. 6 owners (including us). Small dent in lower rear bumper under number plate (someone obviously reversed into a tow bar or similar). I repaired some stonechips and marks on front and rear plastics; it is not perfect close up (you wouldn't notice from 5 feet away).

I reckon, from what I've seen it would advertise at £12k and sell for £11k-11.5k depending how eagle-eyed the viewer is. What are people's thoughts?
Cheers
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Sounds reasonable and has quite a decent spec as well plus the remap, I have said it before start at £12k you can go down but hard to go up. :D

It also has a BMW protect X sticker on the windscreen.
It's the dent in the lower rear bumper that I'm not sure about; as I bought it blind during lockdown I didn't see it until it got here! :(

I doubt it as it has creased the plastic

Well I would ask as you never know what can be done - a phone call and a few pics may give you an idea on what can be done / cost

Well the wheel bolts should be high tensile, stainless is way weaker material.
Stainless bolts are like cheese, very easy to rip the heads off.
Be surprised if anyone sold stainless wheel bolts, zinc plated look stainless..for a while.

I was in a bike shop and chap next to me was asking about stainless disc bolts.
I said to him you don't want to replace the standard bolts, they are much stronger. Stainless might just get sheared off.

You can't do PDR on plastic however a smart paint repair like chips aways should be able to do it.

IMO there’s two things with your car.

Firstly, where you’ve got an advantage as you say it’s much better spec’d than the other 18i’s out there and as you know a well spec’d 18i is a reasonably rare thing. Colour combo is appealing and widely well received by the mainstream market. The low mileage is always going to be appealing so you’re got a pretty desirable 18i

Secondly where there might be a slight issue is the remap. We’ve discussed, along with many other forum members, people’s viewpoint in modded, particularly remapped cars.

In my view you have two options, stick it on here first as a very recently remapped slightly modded car with the small bumper blemish disclosed in the ad and see if anyone bites.

If it doesn’t sell here in the current state then consider reversing the remap, getting a smart repair and stick it up on mainstream sale sites as a low mileage standard car. If this is the route you choose, increase the price slightly to cover the repair and reverse map (I believe some companies offer this much cheaper than the original remap) and it may appeal to a much bigger audience.

Re pricing if there’s mot much out there at £12k with your spec and you decide to get the option above stick it up at £12,400 Ono and see how you get on, as Sean says you can always go down the way

And btw I know you’re still raging about missing out on IRD’s car :poke:

my nephew noticed a large dent in the rear bumper of my Toyota run-a-bout last month (thats why I never take the Z to car parks). I took the bumper off and used a heat gun on the reverse and managed to push the dent back out, might make it less noticeable
