Sorry I was probably a bit harsh on the bloke there, he wouldn't be the first person to be taken by surprise when the traffic in front comes to an abrupt halt unexpectedly.ihadablackdog wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 11:01 amYeah, it did occur to me that he was either too close or wasn’t concentrating, either of which is probably the case but I do think he was unlucky as I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a concertina effect of someone a few cars ahead hitting the brakes hard.tiglon wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 9:45 amdriving so close to the car in front that he had to drive off the road when they hit the brakes?!ihadablackdog wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 8:24 pm A few weeks ago the car in front of me drove off the road and down an embankment in the trees because the traffic in front panicked when a blue light came towards us (panic = stop!) and this poor sod had no option but to rear end her or go left, quick reactions.
I stopped along with others and he was ok and the other people had it in control so I left.
I caught it on my dashcam and looked in the local (Devon and Cornwall) force site and they have a specific link to send footage.
Things like this are a good reminder for all of us (me included) that you never know what might happen around you on the roads and it's best to be cautious. Unless you have a clear road in front of you, the roof down, and a straight six to play with...
