Hi all.
Is it OK to do this, i.e. when everything is in motion just take your finger off the button - so as to clean the door and roof seals? Nothing needs to be reset or calibrated afterwards?

Pretty sure it doesn't do any harm

From what I’ve read this is part of the process for changing the rear shock absorbers.

No worries! You can move it even inch by inch without any risk.

Yes you can

Rear roof section on top and the rear deck up is the Service Position. It's how you can remove certain panels within the boot area and also for accessing the roof wires and lines. Perfectly normal.

Whereas the photo that N4LLY has posted is not so normal, as in this position, given 15+ minutes, the pressure will drop in the hydrahulic system and the roof and rear deck will start to drop on their own and not in sequence, not recommended

I was going to ask that very question next. Should the roof be left like that for extended periods? If it should start to droop, as it were (oo'er missus), would some sort of reset be needed then? Presumably the electronics would not be in sync with the position of the roof after it had sank down? Can the ignition be turned off OK with the roof half open?

If you must leave it for an extended period of time you want the various sections positioned where they will naturally fall into there relatively normal park positions..so depending which cylinders lose pressure where the sections won’t be out of sequence..

It begins to start like in the last year. You guys are very creative in generating, posting, copying and spreading fake news.

Thank you for your advice. I want to clean and treat the rubber seals so it appears no issues in doing this
