Replacement of BMW Roundel on Front Wings
The badges on my newly acquired Zed need replacing. I am pretty sure the badges are the originals and therefore are the two prongs on each badge secured with body retainer nuts (part number 51418176418) from inside the wing. If so do I need to remove the front wheels and wheel arch liners in order to gain access to the retainer nuts. Presumably its then the reverse process to fit the new badges.

I think it's just a push fit, if you look in real OEM there are two components for the badge, the badge itself and some grommets. Which look like this:
According to those photos it's a push fit.

Thanks for the info. To do it properly it looks like wheel arch liner out,

I don't know for certain but assume they are fixed from behind and work from there. The problem with searching the internet is that different markets fix the badges differently.
I had a hard time getting the front badge off, the internet said it was just a push fit thing but turns out that EU models are screwed on from behind.

I looked up the part numbers on RealOEM for my UK car and then look up photos of those part number in google which is what I have posted above. All of which points to a push fit which means you should be able to pry them off carefully from the front. I would trying doing this gently with a plastic pry tool and if there is no give then go from behind.R.E92 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 8:08 pm I don't know for certain but assume they are fixed from behind and work from there. With all this talk of 'prying' and 'pushing' et cetera, remember you're working on an aluminium panel.

Fishing line behind the emblem works better than prying for something very stubborn. The E46 boot badge had the same fitting and that's the only way I could get it off.
For things like wheel badges I've used sticky cable ties pads like this:https://www.diy.com/departments/b-q-whi ... 951_BQ.prd
Just clean the badge, stick a few of those on, thread a cable tie through then pull.

Thanks everyone for your input and I decided to tackle this today. I used various thicknesses prying tools to carefully and gently get behind the badges. With a bit of patience I managed to ease them away from the 2 rubber grommets in the wing which "receive" the prongs on the back of the badge. Here's a picture of what it looks like once you have removed the badge.

While the Roundels on the fenders are push fit the one on the hood has retaining nuts.
