Looking for pic of Estoril blue with black grills
Hi folks,
As per subject, I’m wondering if anyone has a pic of a Z4 in Estoril blue with black grills? I could photoshop it, but would rather see a real photo if possible.
Options would be:
1. Leave as is (Silver)
2. Chrome rim with black fins
3. Completely black
Thoughts?

Depends on what else you might do to the car.
I dont like the grey fins in the grills so went with all black (black car) but they match the grey on the mirrors of the 35is.
If you are changing the mirrors to another colour then either all black or chrome surround with black fins.

Mirrors on mine are blue. Wheels are staying silver, as are the chrome side vents. There’s gloss black on the door pillars, which looks good against the blue, and matte black grills in the lower part of the bumper.Nictrix wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 12:19 pm Depends on what else you might do to the car.

I find the big silver grills just a bit too “in your face” and wondered if black (gloss) would tone it down a bit.
Maybe I’ll leave as is, but could be swayed if I see a picture to prove it works.

I think black to blue would not give a defining edge?
Gloss black grilles with the chrome outer may look better imo.
The chrome outer also picks up on the side repeaters and the chrome-look along the headlights.
I know mine is VO, but kind of shows what I mean:

I like black gloss grilles with no chrome. I fitted them to my DSB LCI model and they gave a more purposeful look. I am narrowing in on Zed No4 and they will be top of my shopping list.

Sorry made the mistake of thinking you had a 35is. In which case all black.motomikey wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 12:43 pmMirrors on mine are blue. I'd say all black gloss grilles for sure.
cant comment on an E89, but my Le Mans blue E90 looks so much better with all black gloss grilles. chrome grilles are proper chintzy these.

So, not the same cars as mine, but sort of show the look. I’m quite liking the chrome/black look of the first image.

In order to compare accurately you need to find an E89 in Estoril with gloss black grilles. The pictures of the non zed you posted have a lot more and different shape black grille to the E89.

I love the silver grills to be honest, here’s another photo for you taken on the Brecon Beacons

If it were mine I would keep it as is, little details like that are specific to that particular model... good thing its easy to change back, so I would pick up a spare set. I know the grilles on mine are not to everyones taste but I've kept the originals, in a box with the awful whip aerial.

Absolutely. That’s the reason I wanted to see if anyone had pics. Lucky there’s been a couple of E89 pics posted.
I’m still not entirely sold on changing from standard.

I hear you. I guess they are not too expensive for the sake of trial and error. If it doesn’t look right then just stick the originals back on. I just think the original silver ones aren’t perfect either.Zed Baron wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 1:27 pm If it were mine I would keep it as is, little details like that are specific to that particular model... good thing its easy to change back, so I would pick up a spare set.
