Centre console wrap

Post by pariahrob » Tue Mar 16, 2021 4:49 pm

Hey all. While installing my MMI at the weekend I was looking at the console in the daylight and realised quite how worn it is. Perfectly undamaged and functional but a previous owner must have worn a metal watch or something as the edge is pretty scuffed.
I’d bought one and some 3M silver carbon vinyl so wrapped today and swapped over. Looks and feels so much fresher, although it highlights flaking paint on the roof buttons. BMW want £250 for a new set of switches!
Next up I’ll do the dash panels so they match properly.
What do you think?

looks good.

you know you can get the buttons for the switches on amazon/ebay without replacing the unit itself!

Thanks. I didn’t know that! Is it an easy task?
Any links to the parts I need?

Why not just wrap the original one, results the same?

Clarke63 - thank you!

mcbutler - I found one cheap a while back and thought I might play around with different finishes. Turns out I like something close to the stock. I did toy with the idea of white to match the exterior but going to stick with this for now.
