Why do my windows sometimes drop?

When I unlock and open the door?
Is this a coded feature to make it easier in tight parking spaces?
Seems to be random though - they seem to drop until not quite fully down

I'm not sure if E89s are the same, but if I press the Unlock button on the key for my E86s twice, when I open the door tthe window drops completely which helps for access when someone has parked very close. Then it goes back up when I close the door.

At a guess I'd say it's the same feature.
Coupes because stunning!

It’s a feature to aid access in tight spaces, it’s either a longer press of the unlock button or a double press :?

Yep a quick double press and the windows rolls almost all the way down and then automatically go up when you shut the door. Very useful feature when in tight spaces!

Is this the "Dukes of Hazard" feature?
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Just to add as I found out a year into ownership of my previous E89 the drop of the door glass can be turned on and off via iDrive.

Ah thanks all I will go and check as I have iDrive

I wonder who thought it was a good idea to be able to open the roof with the key but not close it? (but I do know about Smarttop)

I think it came from a court case in American after someone got injured by the roof closing? :?

Reminds me of the American guy who bought a Winnebago and thought cruise control was like autopilot, left the wheel to make a cup of tea and the rest is history
