437M on MSport Suspension with M4 tire sizes

Post by True-Blue » Sat Feb 20, 2021 1:38 pm

Afternoon all,

Seriously considering a set of Genuine M4 437M’s, which are currently fitted with standard M4 size tires (Conti contact sport 5 non-runflats on this particular set) 255/35/19’s and 275/35/19... this is to go on my 2013 E89 20i on MSport suspension

I’ve searched through the forum and get conflicting results, so does anyone have experience of this combination?

My gut feeling, based on what I’ve read, is that the rears would work, but that I might need to change the front tires?

Any input welcome

"Should" be fine... im lowered a fair bit on BC Coils and have exactly the same spec wheel and tyre
I get a slight scrub on full lock and slight scrubbing under really bad bumps on the rear but hardly noticeable

Great, thanks.

I doubt I’d go coilovers, but might be tempted to go to Eibach pro’ springs at some point. But as long as it’s ok on the standard MSport set up for now that will do for now

I know someone who’s running original M4 wheels and tyre set up on a standard MSport Zed and he says there’s no issues with the tyre sizes.

I’m sure he sent me a side on picture, I’ll see if I can find it

Thanks for that, the set I’m looking at are in the lighter O.E. finish, rather than black. Makes them look a little bigger I think, and would suit my VO car nicely.... might pull the trigger 8)

Are you looking to sell them, or just offering a try on?

There’s a set locally to me in Mint condition with 6-7mm contactsport 5’s for £875 (tires are 2018 and wheels have done virtually no mileage as the M4 owner only put the.m back on for visits to the main-dealer!
