Strom STR-2 recently fitted -

Front 8.5x19 et 35
Rear 9.5x19 et27

Really happy with the look, very similar (but cheaper) than the Apex ARC-8

Hi,
Im very curious about your rear offset of +27. Im on 9.5 also but different rims & at +35 offset the outer edge of the wheel is almost flushed with the fender so looking at the your photo Im wondering why the wheels aren't sticking out.

Cheers

They look like OEM or is it a different colour - mine are in for returb now and I have until tomorrow morning to decide on a colour :o

It's Ferrari Silver - colour code 101c. It's a four stage paint process.. brighter than OEM and catches the light a little more. It goes together very well with my mineral white paintwork. My personal preference was to go for a brighter finish, which I prefer to darker wheels on a white car.

Here is a before pic, granted they are a little grubby here, but you get the idea:

    What colour is your car?

    Edit: just spotted your sig.

If you get anything other than a bright silver on your alpine White.. I will disapprove. No pressure though. :poke:

Or you could just go for gun metal / shadow chrome... Or not! 😂

What tyre sizes do you have there? I'm looking at similar offsets, want to avoid any rubbing

    Thanks
Sorry to your both, I dont login enough and therefore didn't see your replies.

Tyres on the rear are Goodyear Eagle F1's (Asy 5's) 255/30/R19. Two reasons the rear looks flush even with an ET27 . . .

*) The first is very slight camber on the setup.

*) 2nd and the main reason is the profile of the tyre itself. The Eagles have a curved sidewall / shoulder, Pilot Sports etc seem to be more square. They are a nightmare for curbing as there is no tyre protection, but it helps with the illusion that the wheel is flush to the arch.

Your quoted ET35 is only 8mm away from an ET27, so with the right tyre (shoulder design) you should be fine. Mine is also lowered and I haven't experienced any rubbing since fitting them.

Just to say that I put Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 255/35 R19 on my rears, as they were much, much cheaper, than the 30's, and a bit more tyre wall does help to cushion the 326's from cracks. No rubbing either.

I did note that people have suggested the BMW DSC module doesn't like the difference in circumference between the the front/backs (which supposedly I should have also increased). I've been running them for a few weeks with the original fronts (225/35/19) and no warnings have come up (which is a relief!)

You don’t get an error from the DSC unit under normal conditions…your run flat indicator may not work or not work appropriately and you may get errors when flooring it on slippery surfaces etc so predicting what if any errors is in the hands of the gods..

I ran mine (inadvertently) with incorrect sizes for a couple of years..it was only when I started messing around with hard launches and spinning the wheels did it have a hissy fit.. :driving:

Yes I did wonder in these sorts of circumstances if that might be an issue, and the last thing you do with newly put on tyres is put them through that sort of stress.... I'll try it with a bit more spirited driving conditions once I have a few more miles under the belt.

I've had my 35is for almost two years and still treat it a little more gently than others I suspect....

Quicky for the M4 wheel swap guys, I'm looking at a set for my 20i, still can't find a definitive answer about the type of pressure monitoring I have. Sensor in wheel or not. Car was built 2014-09-09, Japanese market but I believe Europe spec, at least that's what the VIN data says.
Can't find anything on RealOEM at the mo. Nothing showing here so I guess no?

Edit: Checked the car, seems like rubber valves and normal caps so I think not.

you can tell from idrive display as the system names are different. I dont have tpms and it says flat tyre monitor. Alternatively if you have metal valves in your tyres.. you do have tpms ( or like me i purchased a 2nd set of wheels that had them on already, but don't work!.)
