Wind deflector replacement

Post by JimmyC » Mon Jan 11, 2021 12:13 am

Hi fellow Z4 lovers. I'm very happy to finally have my own and be part of your group.
My question is my 2016 Z4 has the attachments for a wind deflector already attached to the roll bars. I'm wondering if these look like a BMW product. And if so any ideas on where I can get a wind deflector only, not sure if these are for fabric, glass or both.
Thank you!
Jim

Hi and welcome to the forum, a fine looking Z4 you have there! Those look like original BMW wind deflector brackets on the roll hoops so an original BMW central wind deflector will fit. You should be able to pick up a second hand one on eBay or buy new from a BMW dealer.

Just check its not hiding anywhere in the car. It would originally come in a bag thats half the size of the deflector as the deflector folds in half down its length.

Thanks guys. I did look through the car pretty thoroughly twice! Unless there's some secret hiding spot unfortunately it's not there. Kind of sucks.

When I bought mine recently, I found a bag in the boot/trunk, took a while to find out it was for the deflector. I removed the deflector and now it is stored in the handy net storage behind the seats......maybe there?

Sorry, in British English the boot is the same as the American trunk. Just like the bonnet is your hood. I assuming you are American of course. If you are Australian then all bets are off

There were brackets on the underside of the trunk/boot lid that the centre wind deflector could be stored in when not required, not that easy to miss if it was there so maybe yours is long gone. Ebay should find you a replacement ok.

Think that's just an E85 feature, not on the E89s?
