No puddles or smell of fuel. Car goes into the garage on tuesday, my money is on injectors being coked up due to direct injection, and causing injection issues

Sounds a little unlikely for an n20 to suffer from that but not impossible, how many miles has your zed covered? :?

If you had blocked fuel injectors the fuel burn would be less not more...there’s not much anecdotal evidence to suggest N20 suffer from injector coking..

Have you put an engine diagnostic / fault code reader on it ?

Iwould take a look at your fuel trims in live datra with diagnostics, if high then look for air leaks in the vaccum syatem across the engine from Maf to exhaust. Check all hoses rubber and plastic including intake from Maf to throttle body for holes or splits. Holes or splits will let unmetered air into the engine and when picked up by exhaust sensors will tell the car it thinks it is running lean so tell the injectors to add more fuel to richen the mixture. Usually this sets the EML and sets codes for fuel trims however it may have not reached the threshold it needs to set the codes. However frequent visits to the petrol station is an indication to this sort of fault. If you can't find any splits or holes, a smoke test would show them up or prove the system is airtight.

I had an issue with falling mpg on my E85 3.0. I traced it to an issue with the air intake. Replaced the MAF sensor and a rubber boot on the air intake side and now I get a steady 32 to the gallon. As an added benefit the loud pedal is more responsive too. :D

Think ive found my issue, a plastic air intake tube number 8 in the photo has snapped at the engine by the number 10. This pipe has the rocker cover pipe going to it and this tube then connects to the long tube which goes to the air box by the fan.
