Did you bend the middle contact in order to see the hidden inner contact? :?

Yes, no need to disconnect the battery. Changing salmon relay around 3 minutes with good tools :driving:
New salmon relays can have differents "amperage" (intensity)... :tumbleweed: but it's Ok

Just test cinematic Open/Close sunroof to be sure all is working after.

When I replaced mine it was obvious the old ones were quite worn (pitted). So I put the top down and went for a 50 mile drive just to make sure they were working  :driving:

WELL THEN. One more thing to track pre-emptive repairs of... REALLY glad I spend time on this forum though.. so many expensive things with this car. I can afford it, but I didnt expect to have to. Oh dont get me wrong, I know BMWs have a high cost of ownership, but I expected that to manifest in regular scheduled maintenance and things breaking, not a dozen things I have to track that arent in any manual, haha.

... Still love the car though.

Hi, i duly ordered 2 relays after seeing this thread. Arrived today, fitted in 5 mins, shows the value of these forums thanks to all.
As an aside, my car, 3.0 sdrive 09, sounds horrible on cold start. Gets much better warmed up but sounds really rattly at first. Like pinking but it's not that, doesn't seem unusual according to the threads but it would be nice not having it. Might mention it to the supplying dealer so it's on record during the 3 month period.

I was looking at purchasing from there but they are the same price at BMW so ended up ordering direct from them.

You need to add liquid moly hydraulic lifter additive , had same issue with my E85 N52 , this coats the engine protects it and prevents the rattling

ffs....havent been on the forum for ages and only popped on as I had a few questions and saw this!

So thats another £30 I need to spend as my car is 2011.

(obviously I'm grateful for seeing it because the cost of failure is much more :D ).
