Gauge Faces Mod

Post by Silverstar » Thu Jun 25, 2020 5:56 pm

I have been liaising with Venoxy for the past couple of months to produce gauge faces for the E89. Finally they have arrived, these are replacement faces and not overlay stickers. I have to say the quality is top, they even put a Z4 logo which lights up.

The faces can be customised with different colours font styles and logos, I chose the plain black with F80 M3 / M4 style lettering. I think they bring the look of the cluster bang up to date and cleaner too. The only negative I can see is that when lit they are not totally white and have a slight yellow tinge but I can see that because I changed the LEDS in my cluster to white, if you have the standard orange lighting you will probably won't see any difference.

Anyway here is a pic of the original cluster / gauge faces:

I believe they haven't yet added them to their site but if you contact them I am sure they will make a set for you since they have already made all the tooling etc.

They aren't difficult to install, you just open up the cluster remove the needles and remove the original faces by removing a small centre ring then the old faces just lift off. Took me in total around 15 minutes but I have opened the cluster before so it was lot easier for me to do again. I have gone full KPH since the car is now in Spain but you can have them made how you want, same as original with both MPH and KPH or full MPH or KPH. Expensive well depends how you look at it, mine in that design cost me $55 plus shipping.

Twice I've had red cars that came with orange lit displays. The chance to change the one on my E89 now would be a good thing.
