Best deal location for genuine badges
Hi folks
I have a full set of non-genuine badges on my car. Some of them are a bit rough....
Although I'm not convinced genuine ones are 100% brilliant, they are certainly better than the knock off ones..
Looking at the prices for OEM ones it's clearly a 'much' more expensive proposition to get back to genuine . Has anyone come across a seller offering decent priced genuine badges. I'll need the bonnet with the prongs, the stick on rear bonnet version, 4 alloy wheels, the 2 side badges and th steering wheel air bag stick on version...
Regards
Mark

BMW do a road wheel centre badge that rotates and remains motionless while the wheel rotates. They are around £50 for four from one of the BMW OEM dealers on Ebay. You can order them for collection from your local BMW dealer.
Dont buy knock offs, they always look pants, or the black ones !!!!!!!

Cheers Mark...
Yes they do look good. £50 for the wheel set is okay.. The others will add up I think. I need to try to get the real OEM numbers as the sizes can be the same with different curvatures or pins and the rear badge is a stick on I think...
Checking the usual OEM part list sites it's not clear...

The part number for the wheel centre caps is 36136783 536 Expect to pay about £38
The part number for the boot/trunk badge is 51147200474. Expect to pay around £45
The part number for Z4 badge is 51147221372 Expect to pay around £40
Make sure they are genuine. On eBay some say they are but they are not. All mine came from online BMW dealers. Sorry I can’t help with the others as the ones on my car where in good condition.

Thanks, that helps a bit...
I think the side badges are 51147044207...
I see genuine ones have black backs but at the price they ask I'll only buy from reputable seller...

Only buy from a dealer or from an eBay shop run by a dealer. Anywhere else and you will likely end up with knock-offs.
I've never understood the black roundels. Saw a fairly recent M5 wearing them yesterday, that one single modification seemed to transform a classy high end car into chav tat.

I'm sort of out on an opinion. I bought the car like that. I think however starting to change things like badges is the slippery slope to Chavdom CityR.E92 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 30, 2020 10:45 am Only buy from a dealer or from an eBay shop run by a dealer. I think I now have the definitive badge OEM number list for the E89:
The part number for the wheel centre caps is 36136783 536 (perhaps different depending on non standard alloys)
The part number for the boot/trunk badge is 51147200474
The part number for the bonnet/hood badge is also 51147200474
The part number for the side badges is 51147044207
For the steering wheel you either order a new boss with the badge or get a stick-on type, which is apparently okay and looks fine when done correctly. Attempts to prise the original badge off can be found online but of course you have a pyrotechnic item hiding behind it - even if battery is removed for more than 15 minutes I would be very wary.....
