Seriously, I think you won't find more car for less. I spent less than that and got a gem.

I've been trying to help my brother answer this question for 25k and he has found many nice weekend cars... BMW Z4, Nissan 370z, Jaguar F type, Porsche Cayman, Boxster, Mustang, and more... He's all over

£20K is a good budget, but in terms of exciting 2 seaters I think mr wilks is right, there aren't too many options.

Probably E89, Boxster or maybe Cayman, although if I had that I would have just bought a less used M Coupe.

But if you liked your 35is in every other respect why not try again? From what I have read on here I don't think it is a common issue.

There's a nice z4m with just shy of 25,000 miles for 20k on ebay. Not sure if that's reasonably priced but has seen very little use by the looks of it.

A few questions

Which body shape do you prefer and is it by much E85 E89 G29..

Are ‘toys’ aka ‘options’ aka ‘new stuff’ ’ important to you

What’s more important certainly on costs / reliability / excitement ..

If it’s 20k and you answer those questions you may have an answer..

£20k will buy you a very good 35iS - from the right source

- and you won't find anything as well spec'd with that money.

I've done 43k miles in mine and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it all over again.
