Centre Caps

My centre caps look like they have been chewed by a labrador after a year long national shortage of slippers.

Any tips on preserving these, or is it a case of regular replacements?

I don’t suppose there are any fancy aftermarket ceramic or metal versions?

I bought these - Set of 4 bmw centre wheel cover caps rim badge hub logo emblem https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B014W1QI94/ ... dDbPCW727B

They've been on the car for two months now and still look like they did the day I bought them. For the price, I wouldn't care changing them every few months, but it's not looking like I'll need to!

They revised the OEM part. The older ones start to bubble after a couple of years but the newer revision have been on my car for 2 years now and still look perfect.

Cheers, although £40 is steep. Floating caps are only £20 more! :driving:

They are BMW original, so guess yes. Have been on a few months now and still float like a bee.

Think they are sandard on the 7 series and the like.

I just ordered these;
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4pcs-BMW-M-S ... SwGEJciZWi
Would have proffered without the M logo.
Reason being i have searched all over for the same replacements i bought a few years ago.
They have a domed plastic shell protecting the badge. But have now discoloured probably due heat.
Nearly everything cheap is just crappy pressed plate alloy that corrodes the first sight of damp or salt.

I'd give them a few months before they either fall out or fade :poke:

You're right, the cheapo versions are hit and miss for durability. However, if you give them four to five light coats of clear lacquer they will last a lot longer and still cost a hell of a lot less than the official bmw ones do!
