Hi,
I'm looking at buying a 2013 to 2015 Z4 and joining you people. However, I think I've read on here that the 20i is the same engine as the 28i and it was the 28i I've been looking for. Would I be better buying a 20i and having a Stage 1 remap?
Also my requirements are 19" wheels, Pro Media possibly with the HDD storage (jukebox) or does that come with the Pro Audio? Pro Nav, additional lighting (ambient cockpit lighting i think)? and the wind reflector. I've seen this specification a few times.
Thanks,
Steve.

The 20i engine is the same as the 28i except software map in the DME.
So if you remap rather than add a tuning box you can take 18i 20i 28i to the same power level.
Apart from 30mm larger front discs your choice should be driven by colour/spec
If you have idrive then you get HDD storage.
Most people’s view is that the business stereo 6 speakers are poor.
The professional has 11 speakers and is ok
The top of the range hi-fi version has 14 speakers and is seen as a bit better than the mid tier option
Many people see that changing speakers with the two higher options which both have external power amps give benefits
The comfort pack gets the rear deflector , make sure you get one, the net version not a cheap plastic one which probably wouldn’t appear on most of that age.
The cockpit lighting is a bit of a non event imho..,but of course your views/needs are as they are...
19 wheels with run flats have a bad reputation for ride quality and wheel cracking...you may drive on smooth only roads....

Brilliant info, thank you so much. I do mainly drive on smooth roads but will probably look at 18" wheels now to be safe and for a smoother ride.
Does the top audio package have a specific name if the Professional version has 11 speakers, what is the one with 14?
Great info this and is helping me with my choices.

HiFi loudspeaker system
with digital amplifer (245 Watt), 11 loudspeakers and digital equalizer which perfectly adapt the sound to the cabin environment.
HiFi System Professional, multichannel-enabled, with a 650-Watt digital amplifer and
14 loudspeakers, for a listening experience of unmatched intensity.
I’ve probably stirred up a s@£t storm by questioning 19” wheels...some people advocate putting larger radius tyres ameliorate the cracking issue...
All I know is that for my car the 17” wheels handled at least as well as it does on 18” and far far better than it did on 19” albeit that was with runflats and the other wheels are all running continental sports tyres..

+1 for the smaller wheels, my winters are on 17” rims and the car feels more chuckable with them and also gains in ride quality, they just don’t look as good as 19”!Pbondar wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 12:26 pm HiFi loudspeaker system
