Hi all, I have seen some nice wheels that are the above size. Can any wheel expert tell if these will they fit on the 35iS ?
Many thanks.

The offsets of 38 & 15 makes these a bit of a "bastard" set for most Z4s
Its possible the 8.5j et 15 will fit the rear if you don't plan to lower it ( imagine a oe style 326 with 20mm spacer )
on the front the et15 would be like adding a 20mm spacer behind oe 326 , not for me as you are ending up with a staggered fitment with the front sat wider but its not wholly undoable
I guess you could add a 15mm spacer behind the et40 for the rear & the et 15s on front
For ref the ideal set up for E89 is 8.5j front et 35 / 9.5j et 35 rear , you can vary a few mm each way but those numbers do work well

Thanks Mr Wilks
The wheels are staggered, with a bigger lip on the rears
So they would fit, is that correct ( some spacers might be needed however to avoid potential rubbing)?

I think your best plan is the et15s on rear with no spacers required , 8.5j et 38 fronts are perfect so again no spacers .
The issue is the rear arch liner protrudes down (you can feel it with your fingers ) so if car is lowered id be surprised if it didn't rub , so you are on the limit of acceptable though the 8.5j rim does help a lot , a 9.5j et15 would be a step too far .
For comparison I had 9.5j et35 on a lowered 35i & they rubbed under spirited driving
What size rear tyres are you thinking ?

Great thanks. I might go ahead in that case as my 1st mod
Would the stock size 255's work for rear on the 15 offset wheel ?

I called in to see Johne89 today and managed to take him out for a spin in 35i after it's mapping so we could compare.
While at his I was admiring his Z4M and asking him loads of questions on his csl wheels. I've been looking at swapping my 296's for some csl reps. Either the same 8's and 9's or 8.5 and 9.5's He's said have a word with you on what would fit as you is da man in this field
The 8's had et34 which I thought would then need a spacer and the rears 9's et 37 which would give just 3mm extra out. These was the Riva DTM wheels, what thoughts have you on what I could get away with ?, could do with then sticking out a tad more, oh and the car will be going on Eibach pro's 10mm rear 20mm fronts.
Cheers

The fronts might just need a 5mm spacer behind to achieve the same fit as a 296/326 , the rears will be pretty good as they are .Jollyjoiner wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 9:57 pmHi mr Wilks,mr wilks wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 9:41 pm I think your best plan is the et15s on rear with no spacers required , 8.5j et 38 fronts are perfect so again no spacers .

Its easy to look at pics of E89 rear wheels & think the rubber is nowhere near the arch & can stand more poke but once you feel the arch liner you will see the issue especially when lowered .
I have 255 35 19 on 9.5 rears , your 9j rear lowered car id consider 245 35 19 ( 255 30 would also work which is standard size of a 296/326 rear tyre)

Yeah your right as there is a thick lip under the rear arches, at least 20mm or so. Yeah I think I'd be sticking with the standard size tyres, 255 30 19 and 225 35 19. Going to get the springs put on and see how it sits on the 296's first then order the csl's with say the 5mm spacers front and maybe tray a 5mm on rear too.mr wilks wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2019 6:29 amThe fronts might just need a 5mm spacer behind to achieve the same fit as a 296/326 , the rears will be pretty good as they are .Jollyjoiner wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 9:57 pmHi mr Wilks,mr wilks wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 9:41 pm I think your best plan is the et15s on rear with no spacers required , 8.5j et 38 fronts are perfect so again no spacers .

Hi Mr Wilks, you asked me a question about tyre size.., I was assuming that the stock tyres would fit fine. Do you think these would be fine ?
Thanks
