iDrive routes

Post by flybobbie » Wed Apr 10, 2019 8:02 pm

Had the car 7 years with iDrive and only just found out it has built in tourist routes you can follow.
The only one in the UK seems to be north west Wales.
The rest in Europe.
When i saw the advertising blurr for the car some years ago, the demo vid showed the driver uploading routes to the iDrive, via the usb stick.
Never tried to, has anyone else?
Do we use this:
https://www.bmw-routes.com/uk/en/plan-routes/index.jsp

Is this a better solution to lack of full post codes on early versions.

Never tried, it as anyone else.
I've done the USB map updates twice on our X3, straight-forward process as long as you've got a current map subscription
Alpina Roadster S #320
* Quaife ATB LSD * StrongStrut Braces * Turner RTAB Limiters * Gap-Tech RCH+ *
* Intravee & KCA-420i * Mini 0806 * Cheetah C550 * Stubby *

Think you answered before i put in link.
So not map update, but route planner.
The only serious time i used the satnav it got me to within a 1/4 mile of where i wanted to be. Then had to use Navmii on my phone.

Updating the map software would be a better solution!
