You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

Indeed - thats what made it so special  I guess you could source an identical model and work the same magic but I beleive the top dog 35is has its own special magic :driving:

Angelus666 wrote: Thu Feb 21, 2019 7:40 pm I’d be buying that back and I’d bet you’d get that back to the same level for under £3k with some smart shopping. Did they give you a buy back price?
Didn’t offer me to buy back but the salvage value was £3500 so presumably buy back at somewhere around that figure, but even if I did buy it back then fix it it would still be an insurance write off and I’m not interested in ownership of that let alone when it comes to selling it in the future.

So I’m going to take the money and run :)

Don’t get me wrong though I am still gutted and wish it had never happened 😢

My memories will always be good with the 35i , along with the unblemished service record the tweaks made it what it was :driving:

Just seen this Stuart, absolutely gutted for you. Diane asked what was wrong when I said out loud 'Oh my god' then showed I her the picture. As long as you and Tracey are OK mate, that's the main thing.
Really sorry to see your P&J like that, I bet the other driver shat a brick when you got out.
Hope you get it sorted out mate.
All the best :)

All a bit s**t if I’m honest, but we’re both fine as only low impact but amazed at the repair costs for such a small bump.
Going to miss the old girl.

Have you considered a second opinion and maybe asking for a reason why the costs seem so high?

Oem parts and a high labour rate are the main reason for such a high repair bill.
I’m happy with the payout and it’s just bought my timeline forward a few years and I now know exactly what I want on its replacement in the way of must have toys.
