The part in white is a prototype, it's the black that you'd receive.
I fully get the "not buying through Facebook", totally understand. I'd assume it'll be on their website soon enough as well as AVIN USA's site.
Don't forget $750 US is the cost but does not include import/customs duties and you WILL be charged this from anything imported from the US guaranteed, but you may get away with it from China, I'm not suggesting anything just your personal choice.

I would buy one right now except that I have more important places to spend circa £600, shame as I've been looking into this for well over a year now

started finding them in Hungary, keep you posted...
found the reseller, asked them about availability, waiting for response...

Hopefully a few offers appear over time and the price comes down. I am also in no rush! I have got on ok up until now with the aux in cable and my phone mounted to the dash!

Looks really interesting. I presume there isn't a flip up version for people who already have iDrive, it's just a straight replacement with this one that stands there permanently? Or are the screens interchangeable with the existing iDrive screen and you keep the motorised flip lid?

It appears that the screen is a straight replacement if you have idrive and that stands fixed, No motorised option.

A couple of photos I've received today.

We're not going to get much more info over the next couple of weeks though due to it being Chinese New Year.
I will keep this post updated with whatever I find out as soon as I do

I'm still not clear on this. If you have iDrive with a flip screen (which I thought all of them were on the E89?) does this model have the same function? I know sticky-uppy screens are all the thing at the moment (thanks Audi and Mazda... ) but I kinda like the fold down feature.
Edit - re-reading your comment above, it looks like no fold-down option.

For clarity....

If you currently have iDrive then you would remove your folding screen completely and replace it with this fixed position screen, all of your normal functions will work just as before plus the new ones delivered by the Android system either via the touch-screen or your current iDrive controller knob.
If you DON'T currently have iDrive then this will replace the cubby-hole and will add loads of features you don't currently have. Then once they have finished the design there will be the iDrive style control unit to fit into the centre console.

Interesting.

I would like to see how the interface works with the controller.

If it could run apple car play, that would be amazing.

Take a look at this, although this is the current e90 series it's the same ** Please note that as this was a non-iDrive e90 originally then this is the rotary controller supplied and not a BMW OEM one although it functions the same.

Thank you, crystal clear now  . If you didn't have iDrive this seems like a seriously good add-on. And if you have an original, non-updated iDrive it could also be worthwhile to add in all the extra features.
Certainly looks promising.

I'll go with the solution mentioned here viewtopic.php?f=23&t=111779

I only need the screen to display my mobile, which is already there using a CD adapter

one only needs a mobile supporting USB-C Alt Mode to output HDMI signal and using e.g. this adapter to connect the mobile and the CIC video device: https://www.amazon.com/Charging-Thunder ... B078J27WTB - USB C to HDMI Cable with PD Charging Port (so you can charge your mobile while sending the HDMI signal)

Looks really cool, I am excited to see this fitted in a Z.

Perhaps if someone makes a success of it, we can all do a group order for some discount!

I don’t have idrive, so would be a worthwhile addon.

I dont think I would replace stock idrive with it however, if I did have it.

I would also be interested also but not buying direct from China or a Facebook company.
There are people who have swapped out the screens in other BMWs that have idrive fitted as there are more features with this.
Im not sure if this has been said or not but does this also have the capability to store music in a hard drive the same as idrive cars?

I've had a look around and with the info that I currently have there is no mention of storage. Saying that the version for the E90 series does have an SD card slot for the map data. I don't know if the E89 version will have this or if it would be suitable for music storage.
There are 2 USB inputs supplied via a cable so a memory stick could be used here, then there is the streaming from your phone ability either on phone storage or stream via the net.
