Help, new here and after thoughts on a 100k e89
Sadly looks like I have too wait another week till I can collect the car as the DVLA dragged their heels as normal and my money won't clear till next week
Everything has checked out car wise for service history, M.O.T'S and HPI wise
At least I have a bit more time to sort out some fitted car mats and a new gear lever as mine is the only thing in the car that shows its age. Open to recommendations on both.
Also any thoughts on warranties, for a 'small fee' I can get one with the car but on research I'm not sure its worth the paper it is written on. Remember the car is on 100,350 miles on an 11 plate so I know it may be tricky, I just don't want to pay for something that is not worth it.
TIA

mIne has done 89k, it has the old 'tappy lifter' that makes a noise for a few minutes as it warms up but apart from that its faultless. Is the car auto or manual?
After talking to a garage recently the fancy autos often fail around the 120k mark and he turns them away as they are a nightmare repair, you don't want that.......

Fail..?? Perfectly normal clutch wear, find a place that knows what it’s doing and no problem, of course you have to buy two plates but that’s par the DCT course.mcbutler wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 11:33 pm mIne has done 89k, it has the old 'tappy lifter' that makes a noise for a few minutes as it warms up but apart from that its faultless. Looks like a great find. If it feels right, go for it.
I just bought my BMW Z4 last week. Also fully loaded and it took me no less than 5 months finding it. I tested about 10 and 3x with +100k miles on the engine. A short test drive can never be fully revealing but I thought they ran as good as others with much less mileage.
What model is it? My only suggestion is to consider the m sport package. Has a lot of great extras beside the more aggressive looking exterior trim and lower suspension.

Mine is the 2.3is Msport
I have the same opinions on short test drives but did as much as i could to try all things out as much as i could. Picked it up yesterday and although i was a bit tentative it performed faultlessly on the 130 mile drive home. I am very impressed with how tight it feels and i love the driving position, feel and level of kit it has.
Been out in it again a lot today in pretty rubbish weather but it is just a joy to drive and I look forward to the summer and trying to get to some events and road trips with it.

Your car looks good.
And it sounds like you've already been bitten by the Z4 bug!

Thanks and yes I have. I know I've only had it 2 days but I am smitten with my first Z4, I really love the feel of the car and the way it drives, roll on the slightly better weather.
If I can suss out how to get the pics up the right way I will post a couple of more shots.
