Thoughts on this 35is?

I traded mines on the 1st October for good money and I wouldn’t have got any more for it private, in fact I probably would have got less. The car was up for almost what I paid for it 4 years ago and sold in 16 days without any pictures on the site. There wasn’t many to choose from and mines was the only DSB. Was priced as much as a 2016 model which was optimistic I thought.

If it’s what you’re looking for and it’s relatively low mileage and good spec they tend to get snapped up from a main dealer pretty quickly. The peace of mind of a warranty is probably a favourable addition plus a lot of bmw approved cars of that age have been in the dealer network and usually the dealers selling it know the car and the owner(s).

In excellent condition and with very low mileage, it then becomes rarer than quite rare.

Go figure. :)
There was only 422 E46 M3 CSLs produced in RHD to put that into perspective :?

Yep there is, weird search on Autotrader then, if you just type in ‘35is’ on the more details box and don’t bother to fill in the make and model it doesn’t show BMW dealer cars....just non main dealer.... :scratchhead:

Did they buy it? When I was looking a couple of years ago, I heard that line from every BMW dealer I went into when I asked for more details  It must be in their sales training manual. Did he take your details anyway?

Agree, it's a lot of money for a 10 plate. You could probably find a nicely specced facelift 63 plate with Cruise, Extended Leather and Lumbar support at a similar price  No need to swap out the yellow halo's for LED, LCI indicators and you may even find one with non RF's :driving:

My 65 plate (2015) 35is with 25K on the clock and decent spec was advertised on this forum and Pistonheads for the majority of September. I initially priced it at £23,995 and then dropped it to £21,995. I didn't receive one enquiry. Come October I wanted to move the car on so I contacted the main dealer who supplied it to me as an AUC 18 months earlier. They bought it back from me at a touch over my lower advertised price. They retailed it at just shy of £25K and it went within a fortnight. They would of course had to have put 12 months warranty on it, however, it really does confirm the "peace of mind" theory.

3k buys a lot of parts that more often than not aren’t needed. Warranty’s exist because they make money, no other reason.

The general buyers of course fall for the bulls**t that dealers spin, that’s fine, you pays your money, but as an enthusiast on a forum.............I’d think there would be more savvy. Obviously it’s fine if you don’t mind paying but there will be others, and cheaper.

I don’t use it.
I know some do, but the only time it would interest me is on a long stretch of motorway, and that’s rare for me.

Well, I am loving this car after my first months ownership and I have many other cars including Porsche GT's and Ferraris. Currently I can't stop driving the Z4

Its a cruiser and it makes me want to cruise rather than race everywhere, but when you go into sport mode and go for it....it is crazy quick and I do mean quick.

Low mileage immaculate cars are very rare and when you think for the price of 15-28k for these they are amazing money when compared to 1M'S etc. The IS has the same engine. 8)

Just think you could have bought a new M4CS and lost £35k already so members making a point of over paying by a few thousand for these cars need to park the money and just value the car for the 'smiles per mile' and these are certainly capable of delivering this. Why did I never drive one before.....

Great forum too!

Have it. Like it. And extended leather or whatever the package is called.

Just take care with the Alcantara in the door cards. And, as for the rest, remember that if it's stitched, it's leather and needs conditioning.
