The motorbike might be, but the Z4 not so much. A decent set of winter tyres will see you OK

Which reminds me, I must put mine on soon!

Winter tyres are awesome ..

But it gets to a point where nothing will help.

As it happens, all the local farmers in this area are expecting a bad winter, certainly worse than last year and starting earlier ..

Three pic is of the main road into our village,, would estimate 11ft

Go for the winter car option and save your Zed for the summer. When ever there is snow up on the Moors I jump in our little front drive skinny tyred Mazda2, with a shovel behind the seats.

I've read that prediction in a few places too - I just hope it's as accurate as the "barbecue summer" we were promised a few years ago!

But I'll be putting winters on the daily (it's also RWD) and if we get any snow or ice my Z4 will stay at home.

I guess a set of winters is cheaper than a winter "beater", but the "beater" option does mean you can keep your Z4 safe!

To be fair down here in the South East I think the last time we had any snow before the Beast from the East was 2011, so it's much less likely to be a problem than where the OP lives.
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

I hate that feeling when you know you've lost traction on all four wheels and you're sailing along the road with no control. It varies from 2WD to 2WD and tyres to tyres, of course, but the fear is always there for me, so I never use a 2WD in snow.

(In happy contrast, an AWD 911 was real fun. That said, I'm happy with my Z ... when it doesn't snow.)

Not sure how they are predicting the weather 2 months in advance. I don't think there's any truth behind it, but it makes a better news story than "normal wet and mild winter expected with 2 days of snowfall in some parts of Cumberland".

absolutely!
they can barely get the weather right for the next day, predicting far ahead is pretty pointless.
