£10 re-map
Hi guys and girls.
When I got a TT back in 2003, I joined the TT Owners Club, and although recently formed, had people with tons of knowledge, like this forum.
I went to a meet up in Burleigh (?) and the guys from Revo, who were big on the TT mapping scene, we in attendance. They were offering a trial map for 3 hours (Driving time) for a donation of £10. I took them up, as did many others, and driving home, the difference between 225 And 270 BHP was amazing! It was a totally different car.
I didn’t take up the permanent upgrade as my TT was a company car, but a lot of people did.
I thought at the time it was great thinking by Revo as it earned a few bob to cover costs but also gave people a taste of what 270 BHP felt like without commitment and think it would be a great idea for any mapping company at Z meets to maybe offer the same. I’d certainly like to feel an extra, say, 65 BHP (Instead of the full 90+) to help make up my mind if a re-map would suit.
Thoughts/comments.

I’ve got a mate who still owns a 225 that has the revo map. Nice cars especially the Quattro limited edition cars with the rear seat delete and bucket seats

I remember that around 10 owners actually took up the full re-map after the trial taster so it ended up being good business for Revo. As I said, mine was a company car so couldn’t do it but thought that if one of the Z mappers were to do this, it might end up the same for them.
Just a thought.
Just a thought.

Had a Quattro Sport, as Dodds describes, as a loan car whilst mine was being repaired. I think 265 as standard and a diet meant it was fast and tractable (And understory ). Lovely car though and now worth good money.

I can't see it being worthwhile these days. Modern cars will flag up tuning codes and screw any warranty. It's not worth it for a quick test.

The Revo trial map overlayed the normal map (Apparently) so totally disappeared after the 3 hour test. Just got rid of that TT after nearly 16 years of ownership to buy the Z4. Always dealer serviced. Never a mention of it being mapped.

Only really works on cars with Turbos. As they can raise boost levels. Not much can be done to NA engines without a big spend.
So an option on a few cars across the z4 range but not all.

With the increase that’s available on the 20i range of zeds you know it’s going to be jaw droppingly impressive, there’s loads more power available through the entire rev range with no flat spots or peakiness.
Get your wallet out & treat yourself

My point was how many others may be persuaded to remap if they had a 3 hour ‘taster’ to try. The difference in my TT was immense. Shame it was a company car at that stage.

The difference to your TT was around 50bhp, it’s nearly double that on a 20i so you can imagine what it’s like
