My 35is Build Thread
Update to first post with the current look
Hi, I have had my red 35is for less than 3 months but figured I'd start my build thread.
Of course, some of the things I do won't be to everyone's taste, but I wanted to add my own touch to the car and make it more personal.
Some of the first things I have done:
1. White LED H8 bulbs (Fizzmo)
Updates the appearance and makes it look more modern.
2. BMW Genuine Sports Rod Short Phone+Radio Aerial/Antenna 83mm (65202296761)
Had to replace that long antenna that makes the Z4 look like an R/C toy car!
3. BMW Genuine Z4 E89 LCI LED Retrofit Indicator Kit
I prefer the look of these over the pre LCI ones.
4. Black M Sport auto open/close short folding umbrella
Fits perfectly in the passenger door cubby.

5. Changed the stock 18" M Sport wheels to Fox Motorsport MS007 in Carbon Grey
The stock wheels were refurbished by BMW and looked immaculate. So I put them in storage and swapped them out for my spare set of alloys from my last BMW after confirming fitment.
Stock wheels came with Bridgestone tyres. The 19's are wrapped in Continentals, 295 / 30 / 19 and 275 / 30 / 19
Wide but the stance looks great and that extra grips helps.

6. 3D Design style carbon fibre front splitter
Adding a touch of carbon, however I feel the car looks more aggressive now, and I am still in two minds about it.
In my head I thought contrast of the red paint work and the carbon would work well.
(Ignore the state of the car, it was due a wash)

I like the wheels. Good choice. I may look into those as well. I have the same colour 35is as you.
You're a a bit of a photographer, developer and Youtuber by the looks of it..... What drone did you use for the overheads? Developed in Premier Pro?

You humbled me... I picked up a small DJI Spark when Maplin went into administration, and although I have the Adobe Creative Cloud package I've never used it. Any video editing I have done so far is on my iPad using iMovie. I transfer any recorded footage from the drone straight to the iPad, so it's like a mobile editing suite, not powerful but simple and easy. I will be sure to get some better side profile photos in daylight so you can see the wheels better. Again, my spare set from my last car, I was lucky that the colour combo works.step_change wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 8:20 pm I like the wheels. Good choice. I may look into those as well. Really like those wheels! Wonder if they'd look good on a blue 35i...
