(tip: wipe down all rubbers with a damp towel first to get the muck off before applying this stuff)

red_35is wrote: Sun Nov 11, 2018 12:11 pm Hi, I have had my red 35is for less than 3 months but figured I'd start my build thread.

Of course, some of the things I do won't be to everyone's taste, but I wanted to add my own touch to the car and make it more personal.

Some of the first things I have done:

1. White LED H8 bulbs (Fizzmo)
Updates the appearance and makes it look more modern.

Image

2. BMW Genuine Sports Rod Short Phone+Radio Aerial/Antenna 83mm (65202296761)
Had to replace that long antenna that makes the Z4 look like an R/C toy car!

Image

3. BMW Genuine Z4 E89 LCI LED Retrofit Indicator Kit
I prefer the look of these over the pre LCI ones.

Image

4. Black M Sport auto open/close short folding umbrella
Fits perfectly in the passenger door cubby.

Image
I picked up two of the short folding BMW umbrellas at £12 each and yes they fit perfectly into the folding compartments in the doors, I got two just in case the roof ever fails... least we will be dry! :D

Great looking Zed OP!

BTW - Did you have any issues changing the H8 Led?

I've ordered the same as yours (Fizzmo H8) - but I cannot seem to get them to twist to lock position.

19" Fox Motorsport MS007 in Carbon Grey. Tyres are Continental 295/35/19 and 275/30/19 - wide wheels and tyres, but sit perfect and lots of grip, needed for the 35is.

Hope to get a photo next to yours at a meet.

No trouble, I had Fizzmo bulbs on my E92, so learnt on that. It does help if you have slim skinny long fingers. Took me a few mins per side.

Hi.

Stupid question, but just to confirm the H8 bulbs are what lights up the halolens/sidelights?? What wattage did you go for? 40w or 48w?

Got a specific link?

The funny thing with Fizzmo is he will contact you and offer better bulbs which are not on eBay, I took him up on the offer but he had already dispatched my order so I stuck with my original order:

Hi there

Thank you for your order.

We can confirm your 80w led kit will be dispatched today in our 5pm mail collection.

Did you know we have 2 brighter options in our range?

80w CREE kit (40w per bulb) £54.99 (Your order)
160w COB kit (80w per bulb) £69.99
160w CREE kit (80w per bulb) £74.99

Picture attached of 80w and 160w kit bulbs.

The 80w kits are a good output and similar to the factory halogen bulbs (70w) - they work well in most situations and can be seen in daylight. The 160w kits above can be seen clearly in all situations including direct sunlight.

The 160w kits have similar output to market leaders MTEC and LUX angel eye bulbs which rrp £120-200. Our 160w COB kit is also one of the few in the market to work on the new 7 series without additional wiring.

If there is anything else we can help with, please do not hesitate to ask.
Best Regards
Fizzmo

Looks great. Are the retrofit side indicators easy to fit? I fancy swapping mine out on my 3.0i E89.
