I have traded my 2008 E852.5Si Sport for a 2010 E89 35i.
The E85 has been a good companion for 5 years and we've had a lot of fun and some great trips, but I felt it was time for something new(er).
Gracing the garage soon will be a beast of a different nature (although the wife can't really see the difference - they're both Z4's, both black. I think she wanted me to get the Abarth 124 spyder, but at another $15,000 I just couldn't justify it for a 'weekend toy').

I only have the dealer website pics at the moment - delivery will be in about a week or so as it's coming from the other side of the country (and I don't have enough leave to fly up and drive it back, having only started a new job in May).
It's a new import (from Japan, only 1 UK import in the country at the moment which is a 30i. Quite nice, but needed too much cosmetic work to tidy it up). It has a few interesting bits: a strut brace, adjustable suspension and the box filter's been replaced by two pods.
It also has cruise control, something that should come in handy for some more trips planned.
Strangely, the previous owner has painted the calipers blue, which don't seem to match anything - might repaint them a different colour over the Xmas hols. Who knows, maybe the car had blue stripes, a giant blue spoiler and blue wheels when in Japan...
I will also be replacing the 17" wheels currently on it for my refurb'd 224's. Mr. Wilkes reckons they'll look a treat on an E89 :)
Here are some of the pics I have for now:

Yes, I think it might be a bit cheeky to ask for any big pressies this year, with that sat in the garage  .
Did you notice the cupholder stuck to the side of the console? Definitely makes up for the non-m sport seats...

Looks good OP - I hope the week doesn't drag too much!

Looks lovely, once your wife gets in it she will definitely notice the difference

Great looking E89, 17" alloys aren't doing it any favours though so nice move with the 224s
I don't think I've seen them on an E89, but can't imagine you're going to be disappointed :driving:

Thanks Marlon. I am wondering what I'm going to do the those wheels. Not sure there's a market for them TBH.... although I think they'd look pretty decent on a 3 series BMW.

Next question is, where can I get a set of the manuals that come with the car? No doubt mine are all in Japanese (if present at all).
