Opinions on baby seats in a Z4

What are people’s options on having a baby seat in a Z4. We have just been presented with our 4th grandchild and look after him 1 day a week, our main car is a 2 series convertible and putting him in the iso fix seat in the rear is a pain with awkward access and the weight of the seat itself. I suggested that he could go in the Z4 but his mother is dead set against it she thinks its not safe, obviously I don’t agree as if it was the seat wouldn’t be iso fix.

I can't see what the problem is myself - it's no different to being affixed in the front of any regular car is it?? I take it the seat is rear-facing at the moment?

Yes the seat has a seperate base which fixs to the iso fix, a bit different to how it was when my kids were babies!

OK! So provided the passenger airbag can be disabled (which it can, I'm sure), then I don't see that there's a problem really...

Also, if you want something with improved accessibility, then some child seats rotate on their base like the Maxi Cosi Axiss and Cybex Sirona.

We've had the Sirona for a few years and it's great. Faces rearwards up to around 30 months and forward facing from then on.

You can rotate it to face you when getting the child in and out which makes life a lot easier. They are expensive though.

Sorry but babies and Z4's shouldn't be confused with Babes and Z4's
