Hope the OP has a great drive home - it's certainly far enough to get used to the car! :driving:

I'm looking forward to the next instalment - and the compulsory photos of course!
Drove up to Birmingham yesterday to pick up a new car for MrsG. Horendous weather up, beautifully setting sun on the way home. :D

I worked in Croydon for several months fitting a telephone exchange for Vodafone, I still remember the biblical traffic & dog eat dog manner :o
I was struck by the brightness of the e89 lights as well, although my si only had halogens which were worse than useless!
Bet you’re cleaning the new zed asap :P

Thanks everyone for all the comments.
Was a long day.
Will pop up some better pictures when she’s all clean.
Certainly happy with the way it drives, just need to sort a few minor bits.
The seats will get a good refresh, only minor wear to the usual drivers bolster.
The wheels don’t appear to be cracked, but will be changing the run flats before to long.
The wheels will want a bit of refurb, as like a lot of city based cars, they have some scuffs to the rims.
Paintwork all seemed pretty good, but the first wash will normally confirm any blemishes.
Overall, an enjoyable first proper drive in the 30i.
Can’t get over the grunt when coming off the numerous roundabouts, certainly made me smile.
Gearbox seems pretty sweet.
Took a bit of getting used to after driving autos for the Last 4 years.
Note to self.
Must remember to change gear when forced to suddenly slow down 😳
Roof tested and all working fine.
Though not on the way home in the fog.
Looking forward to getting her cleaned to my standards, and then enjoy.

A quick picture now it’s a bit cleaner.
Will be fully detailed in the next week or so including the leather.
Then a refresh on the wheels.
The joys of being a perfectionist 😀
Then ditch the run flats!

Driven in Croydon (College back in the late '70's), Paris and Naples but the very worst was trying to find a hotel up in the mountains when given a hire car and asked to follow tulip diagrams from the WRONG Athens airport when working for Formula 1 Management on the World Rally Championship. That drive out of Athens was truly terrifying!!! There are no road rules! Even the dents in cars have dents!!

Looked good in the dark, even better in daylight. There are weeks of enjoyment getting it to the standard you want it to be at. Keep you off the streets and out of trouble. That’s what my other half says to me.
