I fancy lots of things but can’t do it all at once.
Have to prioritise.
Well that’s my theory 😳

Beeacon wrote: Thu Oct 18, 2018 12:42 pm Car is looking very nice! I've not had an issue with reception using this stubby aerial: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SHORT-STUBBY ... 1ed82bb2b7

You may also want to pick up a pair of chrome LED repeaters while they're nearly half price. Make sure to use the 20% off code: https://shop.bmw.co.uk/INTERSHOP/web/WF ... 3137303243
I did the stubby mod on my E85 and the reception was OKish in towns and citys but terrible when out in the sticks...I changed back pretty sharpish. I think the DAB would be even more sensitive to this. But its a cheap mod and easy to revert..let us know how you get on with it....

+1 for the side repeaters, the originals are horrible in comparison.

I live near Exeter too and have the same 296 wheels, and used South West Wheel Repairs in Exeter for a wheel which looked very poor (I bought them second hand and one had been fairly badly scraped). They sent it off to somewhere in the South East beacuse of the diamond cut finish and it came back amazing. It was so good I couldn't tell it had been repaired. Well worth the price of refurbishing. I'll keep a look out for you!

My understanding is that the DAB aerial is nothing to do with that antenna but a separate thing hidden behind the rear bumper

Correct, the stubby doesn't effect the DAB reception at all.

Looking great. Are you finding the car quite thirsty? I'm getting around 24mpg currently on a mixture of roads

Haven’t really checked it as I only use it on my 2 days off, but as I have been, let’s say, exploring its potential, yes the gauge does drop a bit quicker than the 2.5 , especially in sport 😀
Certainly fun in sport.
Really sharpens up the throttle response.

Oops - shame really. That means it's 258 bhp rather than 265 bhp! Progress, eh! :o

I’m guessing it’s emissions or noise regs related, I bet 99% of drivers couldn’t feel the 7bhp difference though! :)
