Hi all,
I have an S Drive 3 litre and the rear springs broke recently. When replacing the springs I noticed the rear shock absorbers did not appear to be working that well. When I looked in the boot could not see how you get to the top of the shocks to un bolt and replace the shocks, does anyone know please? Mine is a 2009 E89

Rear shock absorbers
Just remove the interior boot trim and you will see the top mount bolts.
If you have standard shocks as on my 23i i think the shocks seem cheap, i replaced with some Bilstein B6 and much more effective and nicer drive.

Look at the piston rod, much more substantial.
First sign originals weren't much good was the traction light activating on slightly bumpy gritty roads.
These shocks cured that problem.
I think a relative cheap upgrade i would recommend to everyone.
Later on i also replaced the fronts as well.
