Nanu wrote: Tue Oct 02, 2018 7:43 pm While we are on the subject of coding, can you use coding to allow the roof to retract with one press of the button instead of having to keep it pressed.

I know you can but an adapter of some sort but it''s expensive

Sorry for my ignorance but don't know anything about the subject
I was thinking Comfort Access may be able to do this, but I'm not 100% sure as I don't have it. Certainly without Comfort Access it's not possible without an after-market roof module, there are three available (that I'm aware of) and the top version being the SmartTop. I've got to admit that it is a bit of a "nice to have" item, but that depends on your personal requirements, and I decided that I wanted it :driving:

Yeah, sorry about that, I believe it's the E90 option in INPA but can't check at the moment as I'm at work and don't have access to it.

I wouldn't be without mine!

Opening on the move/ one touch etc., is only part of the benefits of the module.

So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

Geoff, can I ask where you sourced your stalks from, I am in a similar situation.

Thanks

Used stalks from eBay. Mine were £69. Just make sure you get the right ones as some advertised as fitting the e89 don’t and some which aren’t do...... look at the pics in the guide on here. That was the right sort for mine..... Having seen it d9ne the fitting is very easy. The coding was interesting. The guy I got to do mine was great. Didn’t work first time and strangely and worryingly my heater was stuck on max! After coding them different and resetting the air con module all was good! Was nervous for a while tho!

Hi bud,
My original reply to this seems to have vanished, not sure why, unless I forgot and didn't press the send button :?
Anyway, so you've got it working all OK? All coded up? I did check and mine definitely says e89 on mine in INPA.

As said above they are readily available from eBay.
If you check out this link (and work through to your own model) you can check part numbers to make sure they are compatible to your Z..... http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/
But as a ready-reference, if you have Auto-Wipers then the Wipers stalk needs the A symbol on it, if not then you don't want it. You'll also need the steering column lower shroud to accommodate the new stalk.

Well I'm glad you've got it sorted. Like I say I hardly ever use it, but it's another nice selling point for when I do eventually sell it :D but not yet :driving:

Yeah I love mine, and I'm glad I've got the SmartTop version as it's so easy to remove when it comes time to sell, then I'll just put it in my next one  :driving:

Who can code cruise control for Z4?

Post by cjp1800 » Sun Nov 11, 2018 7:17 pm

Evening all.

I'm still keen on retro fitting cruise, and as several have said, the parts seems readily available. However, I've called 5 Essex based specialists, and none were prepared to fit or code it. Would anyone have an Essex-ish based recommendation for a fitter?

Regards
