New wheels

Post by del_tl1000r » Mon Sep 24, 2018 6:58 pm

Hi all. Finally took the plunge after nearly a year of looking. Have bought these and wondering what the ideal tyre size would be? My car is a stock 23i, non Msport.

They look good and it's a lot of wheel for little money.

Hi Rick. Yeah hopefully they'll look as good in the flesh. I'm hoping the gunmetal will complinent the space grey paint. I've seen the m badges for the wheels on ebay for a few quid. Should finish them off nicely. Just not sure what size of tyre to put on the rears. They're a 9.5j but I'm not sure if 255's would look stretched or if I should go to 265.

Every set of 9.5j rear ive fitted to either E85 E86 or E89 i have gone for 255 35 19 tyres , for me it works , others go 265 30 that also works .
Front i would go 235 35 19

Thinking of putting some of these on my 35is.

Is there any difference in brakes/wheel arches that is different about the 23 and 35 cars?
Gone :( : 2013 35is, Melbourne Red, DCT, Nav, Comfort pack
Gone: 2007 2.5is, Montego Blue, Auto, Nav

You have bigger Calipers and discs on the 35’s only, I can’t remeber the size offhand but these wheels fit no problem, Mr Wilkes and Z4M2006 had them on their 23i and 35is respectively. Lovely wheel.

I’ll check with the oracle when she gets in and PM you Nige. I ‘think’ Sunday is free but I’d best check, I’m a fragile flower and don’t need the wrath..... :P
