On mine I have a simple rocker switch with a left right action no up down option that resides in the area where in the picture there is a cut out rectangle to the left of the l/r up/down rocker switch NOT the main seat switches ..

me too.. on mine its the bolster not the lumbar support. I'm assuming that lumbar is behind your back, not on the side...but I can see that the 4 way switch probably does both!

Yes me as well, a rocker switch in front of that one that adjusts the lumbar
Z4 Mineral Grey, 28i MSport Auto, lots of goodies
Z4 E85 3.0, gone but now with son :D

Back in July 2012 it was an optional extra at £245 on all SDrives (both driver & passenger seats)

Looked at one yesterday with the M seats, bloody dealers drove to Banbury after being told it was excellent only to find a bloody great scrape along the osf wing and scabby wheels. Grrrrr, still test drove it and fell in love so now on the look out for an E89 with black leather M seats

I agree with you that it is just for the bolster adjustment, or thats all it does on ours.
Is it possible that this can also adjust the lumbar and if it can how can you adjust the bolsters and lumbar independently

This is mine, 4 way switch for the lumbar and 2 way rocker is the side bolster

Im sure thats the only way you will get lumbar adjustment.
