Can't remember the numbers but mine sits just to the left of centre when driving dual carriageway etc. Think its about there so I would say normal

My old 2005 3.0 religiously sat @ 12 o’clock soon after starting, where no hoon, spin round silverstone or south of France road trip would make it move anywhere else.

The current //M & once warm sits as above to the left of centre, though of course a different engine

Your cars temp isn’t really that stable, the display is dumbed down to be static over a range of temperatures so as not to panic owners

My 35i oil temps are all over the map. Around town, it never goes above the 'left of center'. On the highway it stays at about the half way mark. On the track, it can go to the right of center, up to about the '3/4' mark. About what I'd expect....

Looks like there is some confusion above as oil temp isn’t measured on the e85 non ///M, only coolant. The OP is referring to the oil temp guage that takes position in the same part of the cluster.

Day to day driving in mine it usual sits between 100-110. Give it some beans for a while and I see it stabilise around 120-125. So pretty normal I'd say
