RTTI £1 for a month

Post by RustyZ4 » Tue Jul 17, 2018 6:56 pm

This has probably been around a while and I just missed it,, but I have the connected drive which came with the car, and logging on to BMW connect drive, I noticed they are doing a tester for RTTI (real time traffic information) for a month, for £1, so thought I would give it a go (£40 for the year), be interesting to see if it works as well as they say

Has anyone got it and is it any good?

I've got it (on my 740). It's better than TMC but lags behind Google Maps. Probably worth the £40 though.

I am guessing the more people they can get to use it, the more information they get, the better the traffic information, hence the offer I assume

It’s on mrs k’s 335 but it just works away in the background and as I sometimes rely on the sat nav for guidance I wouldn’t know if it’s taken me on a wild goose chase or not.

When the subscription comes up for renewal I’ll probably Tick the box.

I can’t remember if it’s on the Z probably is - I’ll look tomorrow.

So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

I’ve got it on mine - was on there when I bought it 9 months ago and it’s still working! Guess it’ll run out at some point. It did divert me around a crash on the A1 back in February - saved me about an hour of sitting going nowhere. So, in my limited experience, yes it does work. Will I renew it when it runs out? Still undecided on that.

Have a look on the iDrive - go to connected drive and look at what’s booked - the expiry dates are shown there,

I have connected drive, and you cant download it there, so no you don't is the answer, I had to go to the dealer £115 !!!!! they order it and give it to you on a USB stick, which comes with a code and you just plug it in your car and voila off you go and get lost,
I believe if you log into BMW connected drive and put your VIN in, it will tell you what's available and cost etc, e,g the RTTI

Ohh looks like you do have to have connected drive, it just came with my car so didn't realise that, im guessing the £140 is a one off payment, on all the payment options its say e.g 12 months

If I click on it the options are £140 for 12 months or £85 for 6 months so definitely a subscription.

Maybe you just have a few months left over from the previous owner?
