Hi,
Is the footwell net sided (i.e. different for left hand/right hand drive cars?).
How is it fitted?

It's so small and vulnerable to being kicked & damaged that it's not worth the bother, whichever side it is.

Thanks, but I know what it is because I had a 2012 car with extended storage.
I want it to put my baseball cap in when not wearing it, so I dont have to put it on the floor or bend around and place behind seat.
They said the storage compartment under the dash by drivers legs was too small, but I knew its size and it works fine.
So does anybody know if its a different part for left or right hand drive and how it fits.
I checked realoem but it always shows left hand drive despite choosing right hand drive.

I can't answer your query about the E89 but I've just put 2 into the foot wells in my E85 bought from BMW direct they were UK passenger sided, but where I placed mine in the driver footwell you wouldn't know it was meant for the passenger side. They came with 4 screw clips, make a tiny pilot hole and screw into the carpet.
Hope this helps

To Be honest, I had that one for the E89 and replaced it with one from an E36, much more useable.

I've never found anyone who sells the original style of footwell net, as in the one supplied under the Extended Package option.
The ones that you can buy, either aftermarket or from BMW, all look like they are for hidden locations like the boot whereas the OEM original from the package has the nice surround round the edge.

You can order these from BMW as spare parts but you have to remove the carpet as they fix with clips from behindAnubisZed wrote: ↑Sat Jul 28, 2018 9:25 am I've never found anyone who sells the original style of footwell net, as in the one supplied under the Extended Package option.

Thats what I wanted to know, about fitting. Don’t think i’ll be doing it then if I have to remove the carpet.

Only the ones in the photos posted by AnubisZed require you to partially remove the carpet and fit from behindihadablackdog wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 9:32 am Thats what I wanted to know, about fitting. Don’t think i’ll be doing it then if I have to remove the carpet.
The one you originally posted the link to or the one above that I posted the link to, fit using four plastic screws into the carpet - the part number is 51472263062 but order them from your local dealer if you need them, I think they are about £1.50 each.

Ok, thanks. So the one you linked is bigger than the one I linked? Might order it.

I fitted a similar looking net to the bulkhead behind the seats on my MX5. Cost a fraction of that. I’d suggest looking at generic items rather than anything claiming to be for a Z4.

Just checked the listing for the net I posted the link to and it includes the four plastic screws. I actually have two of these, one on the transmission tunnel at the passenger side and one behind the passenger seat for storing the service pack.ihadablackdog wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 10:01 pm Ok, thanks. OK thanks for that, but to be honest since I was originally looking I've now fitted replacement seats that have the nets in the back of them and they are a lot bigger anywaylochpark wrote: ↑Sun Jul 29, 2018 3:19 pmYou can order these from BMW as spare parts but you have to remove the carpet as they fix with clips from behindAnubisZed wrote: ↑Sat Jul 28, 2018 9:25 am I've never found anyone who sells the original style of footwell net, as in the one supplied under the Extended Package option.
