Wind Deflector Shocker.

Post by mcbutler » Mon May 14, 2018 3:50 pm

I drove my Z around 700 miles last week with the roof off, very nice.
Today I noticed that the rear deck beneath the rear window and around the seat belt exit points was a little dusty.
So, fresh water, microfibre cloth, wipe wipe, a lot better.
Then I thought, 'I will rinse the wind deflector in the shower', well, if you have not done this try it.
The water that ran off it was jet black and filthy, almost like it was full of carbon dust.
Goes to show just how much pollution we and our kids a re breathing in from what I suspect are diesel engines.

Give it a go for yourselves....

Its a mucky world out there!

I run my Caterham with no roof or doors. A wipe around the inside of my ear after a trip out and the cotton bud is black with dirt ...... and no it's not that I'm mucky; the cotton bud from the other (inside car) ear is always clean and white. Doesn't get as bad with the Zed but the gap between the back of the seat and the rear bulkhead is truly st1tty by the end of summer :o

Yes I did this, thought I would run some water in the bath and let it soak before I showered it, of course I went off doing other things, and she who must be obeyed went into the bathroom,,, well lets just put it this way, the water was black, unbelievably black, then the lecture started, about people have to use this bath,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I gave mine a wipe at the end of last summer. My god was it disgusting.

Summer prep starts at the weekend so might give it a bath.

Clean those little net bits a few times a year and yes they get pretty filthy. As with the rest of the interior, I use Johnson's baby wipes.

I worked for a company where we spent some time up traffic light poles and they are covered in black residue. Don't forget a lot of it is tyre and brake dust, which never seems to get a mention when diesel fumes are spoken about.

Never bothered with that netting, headrest blocks the wind there anyways, pressure washer might be fun though, please post pics of the aftermath......
