Bit confused here, last entry I can find is April 2017. Is it really just old news as Swordsman says?
2014 Z4 2.0. (driven by her in doors cos she thinks she looks pretty in it).

Not old news, but with your being a 2014 is outside the range of the issue. Was 2007 - 2011 but only some models during that time, you should be all good

Yippee! I phoned the local dealer and mine is being recalled ... booked in for 25th as they can only do 6 a day and have been rather inundated

Looks like the .gov website isn't full up to date yet with this latest recall ...

Also not sure it rings true that it would have been picked up when the car was in before as only two weeks ago I went through all the computer screens about the car and it's recall status, software status and service status with the technician when I was in picking up some parts and it was all clear ...

I thought that was a Jeep Renegade feature?
That is part of this recall, its not only power failures that it causes.

Mine is booked it at Ocean Plymouth BMW next Thursday. Told they will want the car all day and a courtesy car is included at no charge, happy me... Now, just watch, it'll catch fire on Wednesday evening......... :fuelfire: .

I would be happier if it didn't have to go back for a recall, better not having people messing with things.
From what I have heard years ago about recall work is that the garage carrying out the recall work doesn't get paid the same hourly rate as they would if a normal customer went in to get something done. With this being the case they will want to get each car in and out as quickly as possible and when jobs are rushed they are not done as well as they could be.

I have a 2009 - 3.0i drive which following the recent news articles has been recalled- has anyone else had this and do you know exactly what they actually do - they are asking for the car to be left with BMW for at least a day?

Mine is at the dealer at the moment. It was booked in for replacement rear boxes due to the valve being buggered, and the audio unit which has lost FM reception. They are doing the recall work while it’s in. They mentioned something about having “the cable” to do the job so it should all be done in time. Something to do with the battery I think.

Its a small junction box that they change under the dash somewhere. A day is a fair time for the work and they should provide a courtesy car as its a warranty job. Mine is in next Thursday for the work in Plymouth, they wanted the car for one day also.

I have a 218d Sport as a courtesy car. Smooth, quiet and actually fairly quick (ish) but god damn is it dull! Can’t wait to get my Z4 back. I’m driving my MX5 (harsh, noisy but fantastic fun) instead of the 218 as it’s just so uninteresting.
